The first template used on this blog was a tribute of sorts to Kurt Vonnegut’s “Breakfast of Champions” (and it’s 90s mass paperback cover). Read the book if you haven’t already, especially if you are a fan of lowbrow fiction.

My intention with this introduction is not to provide a full review of the book. Instead, I want to welcome you to this site and just maybe peak your interest in the book. One of the first things that piqued my interest in Breakfast of Champions were the strange drawings that littered the pages. What hooked me was the preface.
You see, the preface tells a bit of history of a city that I’ve spent some time in (and the author was raised in). Kurt Vonnegut tells a story about Indianapolis that includes a memory of his about people with syphilis. When driving around Indianapolis some ten years ago, I myself have seen the billboards about syphilis prevention. Apparently the place known as the “Crossroads of America” was also the “Syphilis Capital of America”…
In case Indianapolis’s spotted past does not speak to your curiosity, I figured I might share a couple of quotes from the book. Here goes:
“Let others bring order to chaos. I would bring chaos to order, instead, which I think I have done.”
“They were discussing the possible purposes of life as they ate sugar and suffocated in their own excrement.”
“And even when they built computers to do some thinking for them, they designed them not so much for wisdom as for friendliness. So they were doomed.”
Update: After creating this theme though a few things happened. I decided that dark backgrounds with white text were the devil. Also, Revolution themes were released on GPL.
